I graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1984 and then lived in MexicoCity for a year on a cultural exchange. Upon returning to Bloomington in 1985,I enrolled at Indiana University and graduated in 1988 with a BA in Sociologyand minors in Spanish and Psychology. After IU, I lived in Tucson, AZ for ayear and then moved back to Bloomington where I worked at the IU Office ofAdmissions from 1990-2001. In 2001, I joined my dad, Tim Ellis, as a residential sales agent. Since then, Ihave earned my Broker's license, my Council of Residential Specialists (CRS)designation, and my Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation. I am amember of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), the Indiana Associationof REALTORS (IAR), and the Bloomington Board of REALTORS (BBOR). As a REALTOR, I have been very involved in our local board. In the past I haveserved as the President of the Bloomington Multiple Listing Service (MLS) andas a board member for the Bloomington Board of REALTORS. I have also served asa member of the grievance committee. Currently I am a member of theNetwork of Independent Brokers and I meet weekly with this group to discussclient needs and to tour new listings. My dad and were named the 2016REALTORS of the year by the Bloomington Board of REALTORS for our work both inour profession and with philanthropic organizations. The Bloomington community is very important to me as well. I have served as thePresident of the Board for Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County and I sponsoreda team on the Habitat Women Build each year for 10 years. I continue toparticipate in the annual Women Build and I currently serve on the nominatingcommittee for Habitat. I was given the 2015 Humanitarian Award fromour Board of REALTORS as recognition for the work I do with Habitat. I havealso volunteered with the Monroe County Humane Association, the Girl Scouts, BigBrothers Big Sisters, and the Lotus Education and Arts Foundation. Bloomingtonis very fortunate to have The Lotus Festival each fall and I am proud to be asponsor of this awesome event. I'm married to Tamera Theodore and we live in Downtown Bloomington with our dogPeanut. We enjoy cooking adventures, craft beers, relaxing with friends andfamily, Chicago BEARS football, camping, and traveling just aboutanywhere!
