Named "Best of Durham" by readers of Durham Magazine three times, Bill has been a triangle resident for over 25 years, having moved to the area from Pittsburgh to attend Duke business school. Bill has an MBA from Duke and has been the official Realtor of Duke Athletics. But he also enjoys working with fans and alumni of the other fine area universities! Bill is one of the highest volume Realtors in the triangle, currently in the top 3% by volume. He takes pride in being highly attentive and responsive to his clients needs despite managing such a high volume practice (see his clients' reviews to see if he is succeeding at this!) Bill's expertise is in marketing, both in real estate and in other areas. After receiving his MBA from Duke, Bill's career was in marketing, working in the technology industry for IBM, Lenovo, and a number of smaller startups. Most recently Bill was Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Lenovo. In this role Bill led the Global 500 company's efforts to support entrepreneurship in distressed communities, helping people build businesses and nonprofits throughout the US, as well as in Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana. Bill is a long-time member of the Chapel Hill Bible Church, where he has served as an Elder as well as the Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He also created the Carolina HopeFest, an annual music festival that raises support for Beacon of Hope, a nonprofit in Nairobi, Kenya that serves women and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Bill has been married for 30+ years to Rebecca Stevenson, a writer, novelist, and former humanities teacher at Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill. Bill's community involvement includes helping to start Bull City Forward, a Durham-based organization that promotes social entrepreneurship, and Durham Cares, where Bill serves on the Marketing Advisory Board. He also has coached youth football, soccer, and basketball. In addition to his Duke degree, Bill also holds a BA in Theology from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and studied International Business at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Bill has lectured on topics relating to Corporate Social Responsibility at Duke and UNC business schools.
