Our Offices In the fall of 2008, The Athens Real Estate Company transitioned into its new, custom-built office space at 540 West Union. Designed by Don Dispenza of the local firm Panich + Noel, and built by noted contractor Tom Lovdal of T.H. Lovdal & Co, our building is truly a celebration of form and function. With its striking wedge-shaped profile, the building is already something of a west side icon, offering picturesque views of the Hocking River and White's Mill, plenty of parking, and convenient access to uptown Athens and Routes 33, 50, and 682. As a counterpoint to the contemporary steel and glass fascade, interior spaces evoke a more residential ambience, with plenty of plants, art, natural woods, comfortable furniture, and the like. Our real estate company also shares space (happily!) with the Catalyst Café, a locally owned coffee shop specializing in locally-produced foods and fair trade coffee. Even our landscaping executed by Joshua Lane of Joshua Tree Landscaping evokes an imaginative playworld where earth, life and art intersect. Style and Substance We are excited and privileged to work with local artists and artisans to integrate art, craft, beauty and style into our work environment. A number of local artists have lent their hand to permanent installations/exhibits throughout the building, and we are honored to showcase the work of various artists through our revolving art series. Recent artists include Gary Pettigrew, Aaron Smith and M.E. Chamberlain.
